CALL FOR DIRECTORS!

Schenectady Light Opera Company (SLOC) is thrilled to announce our call for
director submissions for the 99th Season!

Building on our rich 98-season history of producing quality musical theater, we’re seeking passionate directors to guide five full-scale musicals gracing our stage between September 2025 and May 2026.

We’re looking for a diverse range of productions from classic favorites to contemporary hits that will ignite the imagination of our audiences. We encourage unique and unconventional interpretations that celebrate the power of inclusivity, featuring a diverse cast, crew, and staff representing a variety of backgrounds,
ethnicities, ages, gender identities, abilities, shapes, sizes, and types.

Deadline: All applications must be submitted by December 9th, 2024.

Submission Process:

1. Review: Familiarize yourself with our Director FAQ (available below).
2. Application: Complete the online application form HERE (or click APPLY ONLINE below)
3. Artistic Resume: Include your artistic resume highlighting your directorial and production experience (upload within the Google Form/online application).
4. Production Team (Optional): Identify as much of your desired production and design team as possible within the form.
5. Artistic Vision: Clearly outline your artistic vision for each show within the form.

Selection Process:

~Following submission review, director candidates may be invited to interview with the Show Recommendation Committee.

~Final selection is made by the SLOC Board of Directors.
