Oversees the Board of Directors, appoints department chairs to Leadership positions, facilitates Board and Leadership meetings, and is a visible presence at auditions, rehearsals, and performances.

Assists the President as needed, provides an additional voice alongside the President’s when communicating with stakeholders, facilitates meetings and is a presence at events when the President is unavailable.

Responsible for overseeing our financial reporting as well as our state and federal filings. Helps ensure SLOC maintains its standing as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Takes minutes at all Board meetings, is responsible for handling all communication relating to Board elections and balloting, helps coordinate written communications.

Oversees our banking and investment accounts. Also handles building rentals and communicates with tenants.

Serves as general contact and advisor to all productions and oversees production committees as well as critique for each production.

Manages all front-of-house needs, including box office, house managers, ushers, playbills, concessions, and opening night parties.

Advises:

The Education Committee assists the director of the annual youth production, plans workshops in all areas of theater for both youth and adults.  Instrumental in the development of the YPA (Youth Production Assistant) program, allowing high school students to assist with all technical and creative elements of the production.

Oversees SLOC’s budget, expenses, and legal requirements. All show budget proposals must be approved by the Finance Committee for a production to proceed with major expenses.

The fundraising team works with Audience Services to solicit patron donations, plans fundraising events (including Main Stage productions, raffles, auctions, and other events), and completes grant research and applications.

Responsible for connecting volunteers to volunteer opportunities within the company.  Keeps track of dues payments for voting members.  Plans and hosts the semi-annual and annual membership meetings.

The IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) committee works to ensure that all members of the SLOC community feel included, safe, and respected.  Each production has an IDEA liaison who is available to answer questions and promote inclusivity from the first production meeting through the final performance and beyond.

Organizes season and show-specific promotional placements, social media marketing and all printed marketing materials including the season brochure.

Advises the Board of Directors on HR related issues and concerns.  Manages the background check process.  Leads required sexual harassment training and tracks completion for all volunteers.

Advises the Board of Directors on health and wellness concerns that affect the company. Previously this position was responsible for managing the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
