A 20-year drought has caused a terrible water shortage forcing a government ban on private toilets. Anyone caught going anywhere other than the pay-as-you-go abodes, owned and operated by the Urine Good Company, will be sent to the dreaded and mysterious “Urinetown.” Hero Bobby Strong urges the town to “Run, Freedom, Run” and revolt. A crowd-pleasing satire reminding us it’s a “Privilege to Pee” but to “Follow Your Heart,” Urinetown is an intelligent comedic romp sure to please.
