Al Harned

Years ago, before SLOC had a permanent home, SLOC sets were built in various locations and then transported to the theater to be assembled. Gathering a crew to load the set pieces into trucks, unload and then construct the set in the venue (within 24 hours!) was a herculean task of organization, strength and skill.   For many years Al coordinated all this as chair of the Transportation Committee.  Starting in the late 1960s through most of the 1980s Al and his family (wife Pat and daughters Lynn and Wendy) made SLOC their second home. In addition to heading up numerous load-ins, Al staged managed several SLOC productions at Niskayuna and the Opera House.
