Marion Mackendree

Whether onstage or off, Marion managed to steal any scene she was in. A veteran of the professional theater with countless credits as actress, director and even playwright, Marion was an immensely gifted artist and a true original.  A well-known, and well-loved presence on area stages (she was a fixture at The Playhouse, where she made more than 25 appearances), Marion made memorable SLOC appearances in NAUGHTY MARIETTA, FUNNY GIRL, SHE LOVES ME (68) created a devilish Madame Armfeldt in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (78). In addition, Marion directed DOWN IN THE VALLEY for SLOC in 1951.  Eccentric and ALWAYS captivating, Marion was a brilliant storyteller – her reenactment of her screen test for GONE WITH THE WIND was a legendary piece of performance art.
