The heroine (Ruby) is a naive young woman from Centerville, Utah, who arrives on Broadway with only a pair of dancing shoes in her lost-and-found suitcase, hoping to get a chance to dance. She immediately gets a chorus-line job as a hoofer. Of course she has some competition from Mona Kent, the long-established and most temperamental star of the show.
